Atif Javed and Zahra Billoo, two accomplished professionals entrepreneurs, will be sharing their insights on how they are able to complement their careers with social justice and aid initiatives. These initiatives have impacted the lives and hearts of many. Atif Javed was awarded the MIT Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award, Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, and featured in Forbes and TechCrunch after launching Tarjimly in Y Combinator. Tarjimly is a real-time translation app that allows 3 billion bilinguals to translate for the 23 million refugees worldwide. Zahra Billoo is well known for her work as a civil rights attorney and the executive director of the SF Bay Area chapter of CAIR, highlighted on a local and national level. Outside of her work with CAIR, Zahra bakes birthday cakes for foster children through Cake4Kids and is a coordinator for Project Feed, a monthly homeless feeding effort in downtown San Francisco.

Co-Founder, Tarjimly
Atif is the co-founder of Tarjimly, a tech nonprofit that enables bilinguals to volunteer as translators for refugees. He graduated from MIT at the height of the Syrian refugee crisis in 2015 where he received his Bachelors in Materials Engineering with a focus in Economics. However, his proudest moments at MIT were volunteering for refugee and immigrant families in Boston. He later joined digital media startup, AJ+, as a Data Product Manager because of their compelling coverage of the refugee crisis, and now believes there is more the world can do than sit and watch. He was awarded the MIT Martin Luther King Jr. Service Award, Silicon Valley Business Journal's 40 Under 40, and featured in Forbes and TechCrunch after launching Tarjimly in Y Combinator.

Sameehah is a sophomore at Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business, studying business administration and computer science. Aside from her role as Co-Chair of Youth Programs at OPEN Silicon Valley, Sameehah is a currently research assistant at SCU, a third degree black belt in Taekwondo, and former Editor-in-Chief of her high school newspaper. Sameehah is passionate about empowering youth and minorities to write their own narratives and challenge the status quo. In her free time she enjoys journaling, learning new languages, and spending time with her family and friends.

Feminist, civil rights activist, and devout muslim is what Mercury news defines this speaker as, Zahra Billoo. Zahra Billoo is a civil rights attorney and the executive director of the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). She has dedicated her life serving other in the community fighting islamophobia, hate crimes, and civil rights issues. Her work has been highlighted in local and national media outlets including the Christian Science Monitor, KTVU, MSNBC, NPR, and the San Jose Mercury News. Zahra was also part of the speaker line up at the women's march 2017. Zahra is a 2014 recipient of the National Lawyers Guild San Francisco Bay Area Chapter's Unsung Hero Award and a 2013 recipient of the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California's Trailblazer Award. Outside of her work with CAIR, Zahra bakes birthday cakes for foster children through Cake4Kids and is a coordinator for Project Feed, a monthly homeless feeding effort in downtown San Francisco.
